The Path of the Three Towers

A ROAD AGAINST CLIMATE CHANGE

The Moving for Climate NOW route departed from Seville and arrived to Marrakech, the city where the Climate Summit (COP22) was being held. Throughout the 10 stages that made up the route, a diverse team of representatives of institutions, companies and civil organizations travelled 1.000km on electric bikes along the paths that connect cities like Rabat and Marrakech, passing many small towns.

The itinerary was called “The three towers route”, because it linked Seville’s Giralda, the Hasan Tower of Rabat and the Tower of the Kutubia in Marrakech, three sister buildings that share an architectural structure and also symbolize the union of cultures and continents.

The carbon footprint of the route was offset through the platforms of the United Nations Climate Neutral Now and CeroCO2. It was a sustainable expedition to a destination where representatives from around the world were looking for solutions for a sustainable future and the agreement on measures to curb climate change.
