Astrid Manroth is currently the Director Delivery and Impact at the African Development Bank (AfDB) and chair of the AfDB’s Blended Finance Taskforce. Astrid have over 20 years of experience in sustainable investments and climate finance, including as Director Transformative Energy Partnerships at the AfDB, infrastructure program manager at the World Bank and Managing Director Sustainable Investments Europe and Africa at Deutsche Bank’s Asset Management business. Throughout her career, Astrid has worked on a number of innovative climate finance solutions for mitigation and adaptation, including blended finance structure to mobilize private capital for climate finance. She accredited Deutsche Bank at the UNFCCC’s Green Climate Fund as the first commercial bank globally. Astrid is a member of the Blended Finance Taskforce of the Business and Sustainable Development Commission, the OECD’s Senior Advisory Group on Blended Finance and the World Economic Forum’s Global Futures Council on Development Finance. She has also contributed to publications by the Global Commission on the Economy and Climate.
