Rebecca Ford is a Senior Lecturer at the University of Strathclyde where she leads research exploring net-zero energy transitions for a sustainable future. She works closely with policy makers and businesses to help understand and drive pro-social and pro-environmental change, exploring how people interact with energy systems, and how social science and technological insights can be co-developed to better inform policy related to resource efficiency, carbon emissions, energy development and resilience. Rebecca is the Research Director of the UKRI funded Energy Revolution Research Consortium and holds a COP26 Fellowship on Energy Justice. She is also the co-host of the Local Zero podcast publishing fortnightly episodes talking with academic, policy, industry, and community leaders on local climate action.
We need to go further than net-zero. We need to bring government, industry, cities, businesses, and communities together to deliver a better, fairer, more sustainable future for everyone.Rebecca Ford - Senior Lecturer, University of Strathclyde
Government needs to lead the way, but we simply won’t deliver net-zero at the pace and scale necessary unless everyone works together.Rebecca Ford - Senior Lecturer, University of Strathclyde
Local action will play a key part of delivering net-zero. Cities and communities are the places where people can come together around common goals, where collective action can be harnessed, and where we can start to break down unhelpful silos to drive more ambitious action.Rebecca Ford - Senior Lecturer, University of Strathclyde
